APA reference style

ChemEd NZ uses the APA referencing style which an one of the Author-Date reference styles. In the text there should be the name of the author of the reference, the year of publication and, if desired, the page reference for books and chapters of books. At the end of the article, references are gathered together in alphabetical order of the surname of the authors.

Each reference should include the following four elements: (1) Author/Editor, (2) Date of publication, (3) Title, Publication information.

Authors should be written with the surname first and only initials for the first names. When there are two authors, use an ampersand (&) between the the authors' names. When there are more than two authors use the ampersand between the last two authors' names.

Give the location of the publisher of books followed by the publisher's name.
