Chemical Education Trust
Many New Zealand high schools are struggling to fund essential basic equipment for their chemistry laboratories. The NZIC, via the Chemical Education Trust, supports chemical education by making grants for the purchase of items of equipment. Examples are molecular models, glassware, pipettes, balances and grants towards larger equipment such as pH meters and spectrophotometers. Grants are made only to New Zealand schools.
In 2017 NZIC members donated $3950.
Grants totalling $3522 were made to Dunstan High School, Rutherford College, Waitaki Girls'; High School, William Colenso College, Tamatea High School for balances; Hastings Girls' High School, Kaikorai Valley College for molecular model sets Wakatane High School for for a pipettes; Queen Charlotte College for pH meter and probe.
NZIC members can include a donation when paying their annual NZIC subscription (in the same cheque/credit card/direct credit transaction). All donations will be receipted. Since the Trust is a registered charitable trust your donation will qualify for a tax rebate.
